Local Activities

 

We have full details of costs, opening hours etc for all activities and amenities, and can often introduce our guests at a special reduced rate!

  Boats (Rowing & Sailing) - Boats are available for hire at Llangorse, Pontsticill Reservoir and Bryn Bach Park.

 
  Canal Trips - Daily Canal Cruises and Waterfolk Canal Centre to visit.
 
  Canoeing - Canadian Canoes and Kayaks can be hire for the use on the Usk and Wye with local instructors available.
 

  Caving - Porth y ogof, which has the largest cave entrance in the Wales, and a multitude of local caves can be explored with qualified instructors. Click the logo for more!

 

  Climbing - at Llangorse Rope Centre people of all ages and abilities can receive tuition from qualified instructors.

  Climbing - There are several graded climbs in and near the National Park.

 
  Cycling - There are plenty of local cycle hire centres and excellent routes for all abilities in the local vicinity.
 
  Horse Riding - There are many independent riding and trekking centres within the National Park.
 
  Fishing - Temporary fishing licences can be purchased for fishing on the river Usk and Wye and many of the reservoirs.
 

  Golf - Golf can be played at two courses in Brecon (18 + 9 holes), Crickhowell (9 holes) and Abergavenny (18 holes).

 
  Gorge Walking & Scrambling - Dramatic gorges for this exhilarating sport.
 
  Hang Gliding - Tuition and day courses are available for tips from the mountains around Abergavenny, Hay-on-Wye and Senni Valley.
 

  Paintballing -  Click the logo to see one of the finest paintball centres in Wales, just 2 miles away at Pencroeslan Farm, Llangynidr.
 

 

  Paragliding - Wales' premier airsports centre and one of the most renowned and longest established paragliding schools in the UK
 

  Walking -  Abundant opportunity for stunning walks  and rambles both meandering or more demanding.  Guided walks are organised throughout the year in the Brecon Beacons National Park.

 
  Big Pit - Offers Guided tours of a local coal mine and is open all season.
 
  Dan-Yr-Ogof Show Caves - Offer fantastic tours of the caves that exhibit breathtaking natural formations.
 
  Hay on Wye - The world famous town of books with the annual literary festival taking place every May.
